Street Smarts - Linear Park Trail Lighting Project


Senior Civil Engineer Caroline Vedder fills us in on what's happening on a portion of the linear trail.
The CDBG-funded lighting project is replacing existing lights with more efficient LED lights and should be completed soon (weather permitting). 

The original wooden light poles have been in place since the 1980s and have worn over time.
Installing new cement bases, non-wood poles, and newer LED technology will provide more reliable and resilient lighting features that will last years.

2023 City of Vacaville Flood Mitigation Efforts


Over the last several months, the Vacaville Public Works team has been working hard to mitigate and reduce the possibility of winter flooding.  In addition to the installation of new, larger flap gates within detention basins, the team maintains 26 miles of creek throughout town, removing obstructions to minimize the potential for localized flooding.
