Bike Safety Month: Fairfield Adds Safer Streets for Riders


It's National Bicycle Safety Month and Fairfield's streets are getting an upgrade.

New Class II bike lanes with green paint, door-zone buffers, and the City's first bike box are now in place on Broadway and Kentucky Streets. The bike box at Kentucky and Pennsylvania gives bicyclists a safe stopping point at red lights and helps everyone navigate intersections more safely, including FAST buses.

More bike infrastructure is on the way as part of the West Texas Complete Streets project.
