Tomato & Vine 2025 Recap


Downtown Fairfield was buzzing with flavor, music, and community spirit for the 34th Annual Tomato & Vine Festival! 
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to dance to amazing live music from Mobility, Ideateam, Michelle Lambert, and Dirty Cello, and to all the vendors who kept us well-fed with everything from barbecue to fried green tomatoes.
The car show on Sunday was a definite highlight, with a stunning display of classics, lowriders, and custom rides. We loved seeing all the community pride!

2025 Summer at City Hall Program Recap


Vacaville Summer at City Hall (SACH) is a four-week job training and civic engagement program for youth. This collaborative program includes the City of Vacaville, the Vacaville Unified School District, and the Travis Unified School District. 

SACH provides youth with an educational component for five elective high school credits combined with a paid internship where students acquire job readiness skills, job shadowing, and work experience by working in various City departments. The educational component incorporates civics, city history, and city government, including presentations and workshops on soft job skills and career development, plus finances and budgeting are part of the curriculum. 

The underlying goal is to empower youth with tools needed to impact their communities and become more civically engaged. Youth gain job experience as a foundation for future job and career exploration. This program provides case management to increase youth success in obtaining continued employment.
